What exactly does the term “cruelty-free” mean to us?

To most, it means the product hasn’t been tested on animals. However, the claim of no animal testing doesn’t necessarily mean that there are safe and gentle ingredients in that product.  It also doesn’t ensure that the ingredients themselves were not tested on animals when purchased from another company. It simply means the company selling the product did not test that product on an animal.
