Farm to Table Pittsburgh to Host 2nd Annual Harvest Tasting at The Waterfront

Saturday November 16th, 2013, 3pm-7pm, The Waterfront, Pittsburgh, PA

October 25, 2013 (Homestead, PA)— Farm to Table Pittsburgh, creators of the popular annual Farm to Table Conference, are hosting the second annual Farm to Table Harvest Tasting on November 16, 2013 from 3-7pm at The Waterfront in Homestead.. The family-friendly, all ages event will feature tastings and samples from  over fifty local and regional vendors and live music by Gene Stovall.

Farm to Table Pittsburgh is the local food and healthy eating component of Pathways to SmartCare Wellness Program. Farm to Table Pittsburgh provides Local Food Programs for schools, employers, senior residences and community groups. The goal of the organization  is to bridge the gap between consumers and local food producers by teaching how locally grown food benefits both physical health and local economic health.

Last’s year’s inaugural Harvest Tasting brought over 800 guests from Western Pennsylvania. This year, Executive Director Erin Hart hopes to grow that audience further. “This event resonates with people because they get to personally connect with their food, the people who grow it and the people who prepare it. For just $25, it's an affordable way to introduce yourself and your family to the benefits of eating and shopping local!", says Hart. Farm to Table Pittsburgh hosts several small tasting events throughout the year in Western Pennsylvania, culminating in the large scale Farm to Table Conference every Spring. This year’s Harvest Tasting will feature over fifty local vendors including; breweries, wineries, local farms & grocers, organic skincare, some of Pittsburgh's best restaurants and more.

Tickets are $25 in advance and available through ShowClix.com.  Tickets will be available at the door for $35. Tickets for children 12 and under are  discounted at $10 until November 10th and increase to $15 from November 10th through the November 16th . Children’s tickets will  also be $15 at the door. To purchase tickets visit http://www.showclix.com/event/HarvestTasting or call 1-888-71-TICKETS. For a complete updated list of vendors visit http://farmtotablepa.com. The event will take place in Town Center of The Waterfront shopping complex in vacant retail spaces (near the Starbucks).
